“SETTING THE STANDARD FOR EDUCATIONAL DINING”

Table Design

Linen for food tables is included in our pricing, but additional linens needed for seating or information tables can be acquired separately for an additional charge. We offer linen table cloths with linen napkins. If no color is specified, white will be used. There is an additional charge of $2.79 for each person for use of house china (where available). Special china, silver service, etc. is available through a rental company, at an additional charge.

Off Campus Groups 

There is an Off-Campus-Group Convenience Fee of 10% of the total invoice.

All off campus groups must provide payment equal to 1/2 of their event cost at the time of event confirmation (minimum 8 business days excluding weekends and holidays prior to the event date). The remaining payment must be received no later than the day following the event. 

Advance Notice

We require eight (8) business days, excluding weekends and holidays, notice for any catering event you may wish to hold. For larger events, i.e., receptions, dinners, open houses, etc., we require two weeks notice. All catering orders must be placed using the Catertrax system (https://quinnipiac.catertrax.com). If you need assistance planning your menus please call the Catering office, 203-582-8448. Orders will not be accepted via voice mail.

Guest Count and Guarantee Policy

Since most of the financial planning involved in an event is based on a per person price, it is important that the expected count is as accurate as possible. The Catering Department will plan and make commitments for all guests you indicate will attend. For this reason, you will be billed for the final count, whether or not all of your guests attend.

We must receive your final guest count 6 business days before the event or you will be charged for the last count received by Dining Services. In the event that you exceed your guest count guarantee, you will be charged for the actual number of guests served.

Outside Food and Beverage

No outside food or beverages are allowed for any event that is catered by Chartwells. If a group would like to request use of an outside vendor for your event, please email quinnipiaccatering@quinnipiac.edu to request the form needed. 

Labor Costs

There are labor costs associated with events that require staff to remain for part or all of an event (waitstaff, bartenders and utility staff). Please contact the Catering Department at 203-582-8848 to discuss your staffing needs.


Cancellation

Any catered event must be cancelled four business days prior to the event in order to avoid billing. In the event of a weather emergency, cancellation of services will be accepted up to 10 AM, the day before the event. Any event cancelled after the specified timeline will be automatically charged 100% of the contracted cost.

Catering To Go

Please inquire about foods that can be picked up from Dining Services. Disposable flatware and paper products are available for separate purchase. 

Billing

Payment will be processed the business day following your event. Please ensure credit card limits are accurately adjusted to accept payment at this time. 

Catering orders not meeting the minimum headcount are subject to a $3.00 service charge. 

Liquor

Beer and wine service are available and certified bartender(s) will be required and secured by Chartwells. No outside alcohol is allowed at any event on campus. Chartwells serves responsibly in accordance with our liquor license and all CT state laws.
